    FAQ: WSU Study on Pediatric OCD

    What is the study about?

    The study is part of a six year project funded by National Institutes of Mental Health on the brain chemistry and genetics of
    children with OCD.

    Who is the researcher?

    David R. Rosenberg, M.D. (Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at WSU as well as Chief of Psychiatry and
    Psychology at Children’s Hospital) is a nationally recognized authority on Pediatric OCD.

    How many subjects are needed?

    Dr. Rosenberg needs 360 children for his study each year.

    Must the child have OCD?

    The study needs both children with OCD and children without OCD.

    What are the requirements?

    The participants must be between six and nineteen years of age and of European Caucasian decent.
    They cannot wear braces or be pregnant. Both biological parents must participate in study.

    What is involved?

    The study uses MRI and genetic samples from either blood or saliva and involves an extensive interview.  

    Anything else?

    Study participants are given financial compensation.
